Over the next several weeks we’ll be taking you behind the scenes at Harris Boats to show how we make our boats from start to finish. Our mission for the past 60 years has been to make being on the water the best possible experience, and this is how we do it.
The beginning video in this series highlights the first step in the process of creating a boat: Design. We pride ourselves in designing world-class pontoons that not only look great but perform above and beyond expectations. Our designers look for inspiration wherever they can find it, whether it’s a car on the road, or an element in a magazine. Harris Boats are built to stand out from the moment you pull up to the dock. We know that boating is more than a hobby, it’s a lifestyle, so we start with a sophisticated style that’s synonymous with Harris.
Designs start on paper but are brought to life using new technologies, so we can model our boats digitally in 3D. It allows us to see how the whole thing is going to look all the way down to the fasteners. If something isn’t going to work, we can adjust the design before it goes to production in order to maximize efficiency.
Being on the water is about more than just comfort, it’s about spending time with family and friends. First impressions matter. We are always looking for ways to maximize space without sacrificing performance, ensuring that anyone who steps onto one of our boats is given the memorable experience they deserve. Incorporating state-of-the-art, innovative technology, our designers add amenities like JL Audio Diamond Sound Systems to the tip of your fingers with Bluetooth connectivity. Alongside our impressive upgrades like GPS cruise and launch control, digital displays, and power lift Bimini tops, we bring together a total, luxury experience that our customers have come to expect.
Stay tuned for our upcoming behind-the-scenes videos where we dive into the engineering of the boats, sourcing of our high-quality materials, our lean manufacturing process, and final production of premium Harris boats.
